How to Hide Your IP to Surf Anonymously

Did you know everytime you visit a website your IP address is recorded? Have you ever felt unsecured when surfing through the internet? You can achieve anonymity on the internet through the use of Proxy.  In this tutorial I will show you how you can manually configure your browser to hide your IP address so you can surf the net anonymously.

First you can check your IP address here.

Here is my IP according to that site. Dont worry I have a dynamic IP or my IP address change everytime I connect to the internet thats why I dare flaunt it.

You can get a list of updated proxies here.

Usually proxies are listed by IP:PORT or for example i will be using 201.225.226.68:8080 as my proxy.
201.225.226.68 is the IP address and 8080 is the Port Number.

CONFIGURING FIREFOX TO USE PROXIES
First goto the TOOLS menu on Firefox then choose OPTIONS.

On this Options window. Click Advance then Network tab and then click Settings.

Now, on Connection Settings option MANUAL PROXY CONFIGURATION and then input your desired Proxy IP and its Port number as show below then hit OK.

CONFIGURING INTERNET EXPLORER TO USE PROXY
On your Internet Explorer, Click TOOLS on the menu then choose INTERNET OPTIONS

On the Internet Options window click the CONNECTIONS tab and then click LAN Settings.

Unchecked everything on this window except USE PROXY SERVER FOR YOUR LAN and then input youir desired Proxy Ip and its Port Number as shown below. Click OK and your done.

Now everytime I trace my IP what I get is my newly configured Proxy IP.
